Creative Process

I create my art digitally using a computer, tablet, and stylus. I primarily use Corel Painter™ which mimics various media including oil, acrylic, chalk, pencil, pen, and watercolor. A piece may be inspired by one or several photographs, but is not simply a reproduction of a photograph. See Inspiration vs Art for a couple of examples of my art and the photographs that inspired them. I try to use textures, shapes, and colors to present the essence of the scene and the mood or feeling being portrayed.

You may click on any of the small images below to view a larger image as well as pricing information for major reproductions. Images displayed on this site are low resolution reproductions. The prints themselves are in high resolution.

Please be aware that the colors of images vary from monitor to monitor and do not precisely match those in the actual prints. I inspect each print personally to insure that the finished work is accurate to my satisfaction

Prints

I have my art printed on canvas using the giclée (jee-clay) process. This sophisticated digital technology offers precise, high–quality reproduction without the use of film or printing plates. Giclée printers have the widest color gamut available to capture and emulate bright, vibrant hues as well as subtle tonality and transition. They provide image quality with the archival standards demanded by the fine art industry.

Standard offerings are on 100–percent cotton canvas — either unmounted or mounted on foam board and custom framed. Custom frames are chosen to accent the individual pieces. Unmounted prints reduce shipping costs and allow you to arrange for your own custom mounting and framing. Prices for major pieces are listed on the pages with larger images accessed by clicking on the smaller images to the right.

I also offer lower–priced prints on acid–free art paper and on photo paper. Contact me for pricing options.

Note Cards

Reproductions of these pieces are available on 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 inch white matte note cards for you to share with your friends along with a personal note. The covers of these note cards may also be matted and framed as small pieces of art. You may order four note cards of your choice — including envelopes — for $10.00 or nine for $20.00. Ask about discounts on larger orders.

Commissioned Works

I am available for doing commissioned work if you would like a painting of your horse, your horses, you and your horse, etc. I can create a piece from a photograph or photographs you may have or — if you live near Plano, Texas — I can come and take photographs to work from. Commissioned works are generally printed on canvas, but you can have additional prints made on art paper, photographic paper, or note cards to share with your family and friends.

The cost of commissioned paintings varies depending on the size and complexity of the work. They generally start around $1,000.00. Please contact me so we can discuss details.
